(PRWEB) May 14, 2005 -- Zoo Station, the Bay Areas U2 tribute band, will be playing a benefit concert for the African Well Fund on May 20th at the Last Day Saloon located at 406 Clement, San Francisco, CA. Net proceeds from the show will be donated to the African Well Fund and will be used to fund water projects in Africa.

Doors open and 8:00 p.m. and tickets are $12. Tickets may be purchased at the door. For advance ticket information, please visit http://www.zoostation-online.com/ . Opening for Zoo Station will be STUNG, a Police tribute band. An opportunity drawing is also planned for the evening. More details on the evening will be posted when they become available.

The members of Zoo Station, like the founders of AWF, are U2 fans who have been inspired by Bonos advocacy for Africa. The band chose AWF as a beneficiary because they believe that the solution to the humanitarian crisis facing Africa today starts with water. Safe drinking water for consumption, water for sanitation... water for life. Zoo Station is excited by the possibility of raising enough money in one evening to fund a well and thus having a tangible, lasting impact on many lives.

The African Well Fund is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded by a group of U2 fans in late 2002. Since that time, the fund has raised over $80,000. Proceeds from the African Well Fund are donated to Africares water projects in Africa. Africare is one of the leading private, non -profit charitable U.S. organizations assisting Africa. For more information please visit www.africare.org. The African Well Fund was founded to focus on one achievable goal: providing access to clean water. The African Well Fund believes that access to clean water is not merely a basic human need but a basic human right.
