Alternative medical facilities and techniques in treating pain without harmful drugs and surgery are plentiful in Pennsylvania, especially Philadelphia, according to Dr. Owen Rogal, a pioneer in pain management and permanent pain relief.
Dr. Rogal is founder and director of The Pain Center, in Philadelphia whose work over the past 25 years has drawn national attention and more than 20,000 pain patients who have been restored to a healthy and painless lifestyle.
Dr. Rogal praised ABCÂs weeklong network series about pain and todayÂs pain management methods throughout the U.S. He emphasized, however, that many successful treatment centers go unheralded and unnoticed because of the Âconfusion and misinformation relating to pain and its various treatments.
At The Pain Center, Dr. Rogal and several of his medical associates utilize a special technique known as Âthe RFS Treatment which essentially focuses on the muscleÂrather than a bone or nerveÂas the source of most common back and body pains.
Prior to such treatment, however, he gives his pain patients a simple ÂNovocain testÂ, a tiny dose of the drug which serves as an Âadvance feedback to recognizing ultimate permanent pain relief. This technique has been qualified and sanctioned in such medical publications as ÂThe Journal of Rheumatology.Â
Dr. Rogal says that many fine and experienced physicians and most hospitals continue to suggest various invasive treatments for pain, including surgery and potent pain medicines which he and his colleagues at The Pain Center, avoid with disdain.
ÂWith the thousands of contented patients we have accounted for at The Pain Center, we just know without hesitation that there is a better and more effective way to relieve pain than surgery, ÂDr. Rogal asserts.
As for pain drugs, Dr. Rogal is more adamant. ÂTheyÂre poison, as people are finding out. Banning these drugs like Vioxx and Bextra is just the beginning. Our Doctors are predicting that more dangerous drugs will be forthcoming on the banned list as well. He declared.
