FEAST director Ruth Perez says, This is our biggest convention ever; our pre-registrations are at an all-time high." Attendance at many conventions is breaking records this year as home schooling continues to grow in the state," confirms Tim Lambert, president of the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC), as home schooling is the fastest growing educational alternative."

The Curriculum Fair will have almost 100 vendors ranging from Alamo Area Homeschool Robotics Team to San Antonio Childrens Museum to Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) and Texas Special Kids. This fair has always offered an opportunity for home schoolers to enjoy a great selection of continuing education workshops and a chance to review curriculum for next year.

The thirty-plus workshops will cover a wide range of topics for beginners, veterans, and those in leadership. THSCs Lyndsay Lambert will be doing a workshop entitled Getting Started," and special guest speaker Tim Lambert will be doing a workshop entitled Planning for the Future: What Comes After Graduation?"

Tim Lambert will also give a workshop on What Texas Home Schoolers Need to Know About the Law." Mr. Lambert will begin this workshop by relating the history of home education in Texas and the nation; he will explain the law concerning home schooling, giving an update on legislation that may impact home schooling being dealt with in the current Texas legislative session. He will instruct parents about ways home schooling families can avoid problems with school authorities and procedures for being prepared for the truant officer or social worker at the door. He will also share how home schoolers can answer those oft-asked questions such as "What about socialization?"

Covering admission for both days of the convention, the admission prices are $18 per adult, $12 per child (ages 3 through 18), $50 for a family, and $30 for a husband and wife. Get more information at http://homeschoolfeast.com/bookfair or call (210) 342-4674.
