Seattle-area Kaizen consultancy Gemba research is offering a Kaizen improvement workshop presented by industry expert Michel Baudin.
As organizations "go Lean" and take out waste from their manufacturing operations, they are often left with the challenge of taking out cost and lead-time from their supply chain. Supply Chain Management techniques alone have not been sufficient to bridge the gap between a Lean factory and an extended Lean enterprise.
For the latest in their series of educational seminars and workshops on Lean improvement practices, Gemba Research welcomes Michel Baudin is an accomplished consultant with 18 years of experience and author of Lean Assembly (Productivity Press 2002) and Lean Logistics (Productivity Press 2004). Mr. Baudin has lived and worked in Japan, has studied the secrets of what makes Toyota so successful, and Mr. Baudin will share these insights on Lean Assembly on June 22 and Lean Logistics on June 23 & 24.
These highly informative sessions will bring "how to" techniques and examples of Lean assembly implementations from industries including automotive, aerospace, electronics, household appliances, and personal products in both high-volume, low-mix to mass customization environments. Mr. Baudin will share the latest methods on how companies are using Lean to improve quality, reduce inventory and improve productivity in assembly and logistics / distribution operations today.
Of particular interest is how Toyota and other world class Lean companies have succeeded through collaboration in the supply chain. This requires smoothing both physical distribution and information flow, inside a factory and between factories. Mr. Baudin will reveal depths of the lean approach to managing supplier support systems and enabling effective customer-supplier relationships.
