Chris Morris Joins Saugatuck as Senior Research Director

Saugatuck opens new office in Australia.

Westport, CT (PRWEB) May 19, 2005 -- Saugatuck Technology, a research-based consultancy, today announced that Chris Morris has joined the firm as Senior Research Director. Mr. Morris is based in Sydney, Australia, and is Saugatuck's first representative in the Asia/Pacific region. He will develop and direct research and consulting projects for the firm within Asia/Pacific and provide all Asia/Pacific perspectives for the growing number of global engagements that Saugatuck is undertaking.

As a recognized IT analyst and commentator on the Asia/Pacific IT markets, Mr. Morris brings to Saugatuck more than 25 years of business development, technical, marketing, and relationship management experience in IT and related technologies. The Asia/Pacific region contains many discrete markets, including the two that are generally regarded as the fastest growing IT markets in the world -- China and India. Mr. Morris's knowledge of these markets will contribute valuable insights to Saugatuck's clients.

Mr. Morris comes to Saugatuck after founding Morris & Patryn Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based consultancy providing marketing, market development, partner development and relationship management services to IT and high-technology-focused vendors. Prior to founding this company, Mr. Morris was employed by Gartner, a US-based research and advisory firm for IT buyers. He joined Gartner in 1992 as their first analyst in the Asia/Pacific region, and left in 2001 as Group Vice President and Director of Research for Asia/Pacific. During this time, Mr. Morris developed and managed advisory services for vendor and user firms, focusing on regional IT trends, vendor partnerships and alliances within the Asia/Pacific region, the metamorphosis of the data centre, and the business management of IT.

Chris is a proven leader at understanding and developing the right combinations of technology and business strategies," said McNee. His experience in the fast-growing Asia/Pacific region and knowledge of the local markets and how the IT business is run there will make a significant contribution to the success of our high-growth consulting and strategic intelligence practice."

Saugatuck Technology is unique -- a strong and growing firm with exciting clients in an otherwise challenged marketplace," said Morris. It is a privilege to be associated with such a high-profile team of consultants and analysts. I am excited to join a team with such breadth and depth of experience, and I welcome the opportunity to contribute and see the business grow in Asia/Pacific."
