Due to open this summer, the hotel and spa has been booked to host this event which will see some fifty Commonwealth heads of state, including Queen Elizabeth, converge on the island during November 2005.

The venue itself has been heralded as a great step forward for Malta’s hospitality industry, boasting as it does a range of top-end services and amenities. Although still in the final stages of completion the hotel promises to become one of Europe’s number one vacation destinations.

When complete, The Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort and Spa will, according to its website, “be situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking one of Malta’s most beautiful sandy beaches, Golden Bay… On the leisure side the hotel will have extensive facilities for all guests to enjoy. A fully blown 1,000 square meter spa and leisure centre will be the most sought after on the island with its breathtaking views and huge open glass windows directly overlooking the bay”.

The development “will also boast a very large range of facilities including a spacious lobby…a 450 cover restaurant, 2 smaller casual dining restaurants, cocktail bar, lobby bar, various lounge areas and various reading lounges on each level of the hotel. In addition to these facilities, a number of retail outlets will be located off the lobby for guest’s convenience”.
