Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) May 19, 2005
Eriksen Translations has provided pro-bono translation services to NYC2012, the committee leading New York's bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, and its local outreach group, the Nations of New York. Eriksen translated and localized the Nations of New YorkÂs signature marketing brochure into French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.
EriksenÂs experience and mission dovetailed nicely with the goal of the Nations of New York. With more than 40% of New Yorkers being foreign born and non-native English speakers, Eriksen Translations is a leading provider of language services to New York CityÂs immigrant population. The Nations of New York unites more than 400 of the cityÂs nationality organizations in support of the Olympic bid. Working together with Eriksen, The Nations of New York can now communicate the spirit and message of the Games with visitors, athletes, and fans in their own language.
ÂEriksen Translations did a great job on one of our important and most challenging brochures. Their team of translators representing 15 countries demonstrates one of New YorkÂs greatest assets, our tremendous diversity. And their generous contribution to the bid is a demonstration of the cityÂs dedication and commitment to the Olympic bid. We are deeply grateful, said Amy Stanton, NYC2012Âs Director of Marketing and Communications.
ÂAs New Yorkers, weÂre thrilled to provide NYC2012 with the translation and localization services needed to reach out to supporters both here and abroad, said Vigdis Eriksen, president and CEO of Eriksen Translations. ÂBy offering our services to NYC2012, weÂre helping the committee to connect with not only the International Olympic Committee, but also Olympic enthusiasts in New York and around the world.Â
New York City is competing with four other Candidate Cities for the right to host the 2012 Games: London, Madrid, Moscow, and Paris. The International Olympic Committee will make their decision on July 6, 2005 in Singapore.
