Filmmaker and Actor, Henry Jaglom, has been chosen to receive the ÂIndependent FilmmakerÂs AwardÂ. JaglomÂs career began in the cutting room helping to edit ÂEasy RiderÂ but his roots are firmly planted in acting and directing. Jacqueline Bisset, renowned international film star, will be honored with the ÂPioneer AwardÂ. The ÂMaverick AwardÂ will be presented to Penelope Spheeris who is recognized as one of HollywoodÂs most talented directors. LA Femme Film FestivalÂs ÂVisionary AwardÂ will go to Writer/Director Patricia Cardoso, whose directing credits include Real Women Have Curves, winner of the Dramatic Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The ÂLifetime Achievement AwardÂ will be presented to award winning actress, Sally Kirkland.
