Thriller movie to be Shot in Anna, Texas (North of Dallas)

Independent film maker to shoot thriller about a group of teenagers playing capture-the-flag in the woods at night not knowing that an evil entity is capturing them.

(PRWEB) May 21, 2005 -- Theres a movie to be made in the small town of Annas backyard! Its Territus" a home grown thriller to be shot about 30 miles north of Dallas. The full length motion picture - for release on DVD - was written by Sherman native Joe Fawcett, a 1968 graduate of Sherman High School. Fawcett will also direct the 90-minute movie. The movie began as an idea teenagers Preston and Alta Gleason and Jonathan Fawcett had about a thriller that takes place in the woods behind the Gleasons home. They pitched the idea to Fawcett and he took it from there. What was initially going to be a small ten-minute project quickly took on a life of its own. Fawcett, a retired chiropractor who had practiced for 15-years in California before coming home to Texas a few years ago, had also worked extensively in the television, radio, and film industry while in California. He wrote, produced, directed, and acts in the highly acclaimed 8-minute film, Demonhunter" that can be viewed on his web site: drjoefawcett.com. While in California, Fawcett starred in numerous television commercials as the spokesman. He can still be seen in the public information commercial, Count to Ten" that first aired over six years ago concerning domestic violence. He was also an in demand print model for the Gottschalks Department stores as well as for many other companies in California as well as nationally. Fawcett, along with Alan Autry who played Buba "In The Heat of the Night" television series, started a film production company and acting school of which The Legend of Jake Kincaid" came out of as well as a TV pilot, The Hook and Cook Show", and The Academic Gameplan" which Fawcett spent 10-months producing and directing. Fawcett produced, directed, and co-hosted the ESPN radio fishing show, Rogers Fishing Report" with Roger George that aired live every Friday afternoon from the Fresno station. Fawcett also had a popular radio talk show, The Christian Times" in which he directed, produced, wrote, and hosted. Fawcett served on the executive board of Fandango which was legendary cowboy singing artist Jack Hannah of the Sons of the San Joaquin celebration of Californias history. Fawcett has written five books all of which are available on his web site. He also has written several movie scripts, one of which he plans to go into pre-production in October; "Eternal Night" based on a book he wrote. Territus", in Latin means terror, is a thriller that features actors from the Dallas Metroplex. The 90-page script is about teenagers on either the Red Team or the Blue Team playing capture-the-flag in the woods at night time without knowing that there is an evil entity capturing them. To raise additional monies for this project, Fawcett came up with the idea of the actors wearing either red or blue T-shirts, respective of which team they were on, that would have advertising logos. A local, regional, or national advertiser purchases the actor's space on their T-shirt. The more scenes an actor has, the more the advertiser paid for the "space". The Territus web site: territus.com will feature the trailer, pictures, and video streaming of behind the scenes interviews, outtakes, and information about the cast and crew. The movie will also be purchased from that site. The sound score will be unique as it will be composed, arranged, and produced by the prolific and famous composer/arranger Gospel Hall of Fame member the legendary Whitey Gleason who also makes a cameo appearance in the movie. His son Preston will be working with him to create the powerful sound score. Houston Rap artist, James Ehmer will feature one of his hit songs at the beginning of the movie. Fawcett, who appears in the movie, stated that Territus is family friendly and perfect for youth groups, youth camps, and for viewing on a "dark and stormy night". He said it contains a powerful positive message along with a lot of action, comedy, and numerous scary moments guaranteed to make you jump in your seat with a surprise ending you will not forget.
