Marthas Vineyard Property Owners Have New Options to Sell Their Property Without Paying Real Estate Commissions

Property owners on Marthas Vineyard now have a service that they can use to help them sell their home, land or business without needing to go to an agent.

WEST TISBURY, MA (PRWEB) May 21, 2005 -- Property owners on Marthas Vineyard now have a service that they can use to help them sell their home, land or business without needing to go to an agent. According the Vineyard Times, the average price of a Real Estate Transfer" on Marthas Vineyard was $852,901" in 2004. With the average real estate commissions being 5-6% this would be $42,645-51,174 in fees! Property Owners can now advertise through the www.MVForSaleByOwner.com and have potential buyers come to them.

Sellers can list their property on www.MVForSaleByOwner.com. On the site they can post 10 pictures, and as much content about the property as they would like. They have options to advertise in the MVTimes, Vineyard Gazette and Vineyard Visitor inside the ads placed by MVForSaleByOwner.com. These ads have a property ID so that when a potential buyer goes to the web site and enters, it will take them to the specific property web page. Coming in April, there will be a TV Show on Saturday and Sunday Mornings on Channel 10 that will be a slide show with a voice over of the information on the site. This will be great for island visitors or residents who do not have web access.

When we bought our land in West Tisbury, we never even met an agent at the property. We put in an offer and bought it. We feel that people are either going to connect or not connect with a property. Our goal is to get these potential buyers to call direct without needing a middleman." Said Adam Lewenberg, President of MVForSaleByOwner.com.

We used to rely on Travel Agents to book flights and Recruiters to get jobs, now companies like Expedia.com and Monster.com have automated these processes and taken out the middleman. We feel that Real Estate is the next logical industry, especially with the fees associated with the skyrocketing real estate values. We are already seeing this with vacation rentals with owners renting through different on-line services."
