Schneider Optics names Dwight Lindsey Cheif Executive Officer

Schneider Optics, Inc., the well-known lens and professional filter manufacturer, has announced the promotion of Dwight Lindsey to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Schneider Optics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GermanyÂ?s Schneider Kreuznach, and is North AmericaÂ?s exclusive distributor of Schneider lenses and B+W camera filters.

Schneider Optics, Inc., the well-known lens and professional filter manufacturer, has announced the promotion of Dwight Lindsey to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Schneider Optics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany’s Schneider Kreuznach, and is North America’s exclusive distributor of Schneider lenses and B+W camera filters.

Mr. Lindsey has been with Schneider Optics since 1979, when he joined the company as a product specialist. He was promoted to Vice President in 1981, and to Senior Vice President in 1988. He serves as the President of the International Theater Equipment Association (ITEA), and is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), as well as The Moving Image Society (BKSTS). Mr. Lindsey is a renowned cinema technology expert, and has authored numerous papers and articles on the subject.

After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Mr. Lindsey’s graduate studies in photography at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) led him to an avocation as a large format photographer, and helped prepare him for his leadership position in the evolution of optics for digital photography.

In making the announcement, Schneider Kreuznach Managing Director Dr. Josef Staub said “Dwight has been a driving force behind Schneider Optics’ successful growth, and has helped the company meet every challenge it has faced in the broad range of markets it serves. This promotion is the much-deserved recognition and reward for Dwight’s tireless efforts on the company’s behalf.”

Schneider Optics consists of business units addressing the optical needs of a broad range of industries, including professional and consumer photography, industrial optics, cinema projection, and motion picture/television production. The company has offices in New York and California.

In addition to Mr. Lindsey’s appointment to CEO, Schneider Optics has also announce the following promotions: Dawn Tenny to Chief Financial Officer; Bill Turner to Senior Vice President, Motion Picture and Television Products; Stuart Singer to Vice President, Industrial Optics; and Michael Elder to Director of Corporate Controlling.
