As part of that preparation, the National Safety Commission (NSC) and its subsidiary, Lowest Price Traffic School, are calling on all Americans to remember the importance of safe driving practices. NSC's Memorial Day Weekend Awareness Campaign urges adult and teen drivers to be extra vigilant this holiday weekend.

Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rank Memorial Day weekend as one of the deadliest holidays for traffic related deaths. Historically, approximately 500 people are killed each year in automobile accidents during the Memorial Day weekend, half of which are the result of alcohol related crashes.
