SLAP Systems introduces Hybrid Yield Management to leading hotels on the Gold Coast, at the Australian Marketing InstituteÂ?s Yield Management Seminar.

The can opener was invented 48 years after the tin can. This year Yield Management celebrates its 21st birthday. But until now, no truly effective tool has been available for hotels to efficiently manage yield. Hotels have been claiming for a number of years that the current suite of automated systems and manual processes are not effective approaches to quality yield management in a dynamic environment. Two years ago SLAP Systems started working in collaboration with a number of leading hotels to solve this problem; to find a third and better way between the unpleasant choice of fully automated solutions and manually intensive spread sheeting. Combining manager’s knowledge of their market environment with relevant historical data, SLAP Systems has delivered the world’s first hybrid yield management tool, SLAP Yield.

The Hybrid Yield Management Software mines hotel booking systems to extract critical forecasting, pricing and yield data and then presents that information in a timely manner to yield and revenue managers who apply the unique characteristics of their hotel’s market forces and booking patterns to make immediate inventory and pricing decisions. The application ensures that the hotel stays in control of these important evaluations. SLAP Yield assists hotel operators to increase revenue by over 7% by enabling smarter rate decisions and integrates with existing PMS systems including Fidelio, Opera and other main applications currently in use.

Launching the software in conjunction with the Australian Marketing Institute, Soenke Weiss, CEO of SLAP Systems says “The great thing about SLAP Yield is that it delivers a higher return whilst saving 50-70% on the cost of fully automated systems.” Another major benefit according to Soenke is that SLAP Yield “is quick to implement and very easy to use.”

The Gold Coast’s Hotel Watermark has a history of proactively adopting new technologies to improve financial returns and repeat guest visitation and will be the first hotel to deploy SLAP Yield. The hotel is aiming to increase yield by over $100,000 per annum on their xxx rooms. Leon Thomson, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Watermark said: “We have been working with SLAP Systems for over three years. We are excited about the prospect of SLAP Yield, in particular, its ability to help with rate decisions for our shoulders either side of peak periods, and better targeting of our promotional activities.”

With growing demand for hotel accommodation Soenke Weiss claims that this is the ideal time to deploy SLAP Yield to ensure hotels maximize the opportunities that improved yield management will deliver.
