(PRWEB) May 27, 2005 -- Chicagos surf-styled high-energy popstars who epitomize the philosophy of endless summer and a permanent vacation are led by the curvaceous and fun-loving Suzy Brack. The colorful chanteuse and her festively-clad band have played the Chicagos top spots, festivals, and even a science-fiction convention. Following their showcase at the International Pop Overthrow Festival: IPO Chicago 2005 theyve been invited by promoter David Bash to play the IPO: Liverpool at the birthplace of The Beatles: Liverpools Cavern Club.
Is is more than the lattice of coincidence that the diminutive redhead with a big voice will be playing on May 27th, 2005 on the birthdate of the clubs most famous ex-employee, Cilla Black?
2005 is turning out to be the world of Suzy Brack.
With her previous band, an electronia trio, Suzy was voted as Best Musician in the 2002 Chicagos Free Press newsweekly. Now with her own rock-n-roll band shes able to showcase both her considerable vocal power with her background in theater and film to present a show that recalls both the extavagances of Cher and an ersatz-tiki motif with buzzsaw guitars and full-throttle drums.
The quintet has yet to record a formal debut but selections from their demo, recorded by the Coctails Barry Phipps at his North Branch Studio, have been selected for two consecutive IPO compilations by Not Lame Records.
The New Jack Lords consist of guitarist, vocalist, and arranger Davin Carey, drummer Scott Gillis, bassist Jason Trtan, and subbing for lead guitarist Gary Santos for the IPO UK is John Hasbrouck, most renowned for his acoustic blues guitarwork (Top CDs of 2002" - Acoustic Guitar Magazine) returning to electric guitar. Suzy Brack and John Hasbrouck first met at a music conference in Florida and have since shared the stage at Chicago's Metro as part of The Neo-Futurists 30 Bands In 60 Minutes."
In addition to the band's Cavern Club appearance at 2:45pm on May 27, a second IPO show is scheduled for the same evening at the nearby Flanagans Apple at 9:30pm.
IPO Liverpool (26 - 30 May, 2005) features over 100 bands from 14 countries at the Cavern front, Cavern back, Cavern Pub, Lennon Bar, Flanagans and Rubber Soul with free entry all weekend.
