The Monkey Hook™, a new, patent-pending, ‘no-tool’ picture hanger for drywall, was presented with a Do-It-Yourself Retailing magazine “Retailers Choice” award at the 60th Annual National Harware Show, held here last week. A select panel of six hardware retail executives scoured 3,200 exhibitors’ booths representing 500,000+ products in search of items they believed stood above the rest. When the votes were counted, The Monkey Hook™ was one of just two winners selected by multiple panelists.

“Our booth was always busy, but this was our first show so we weren’t immediately aware of how well things were going,” said Marjie Betz, a principal of the company. “Between receiving the award and managing all the sales leads, the coup de grace for us was when Crown Hardware, one of ACE Hardware’s largest members (12 stores in Orange County, CA), decided to carry the Monkey Hook in all of its stores.”

Craig Cowart, VP Merchandising and Marketing for Marvin's, a 25-store group Home Centers in the Southeastern US, was one of the panelists who chose the Monkey Hook.
