PDC Launches High Speed MMCplus Memory Cards - 150x now and 200x Before End of 2005
Already having products with performance speeds higher than industry averages, PDC (Power Digital Card) will announce its prototype of high speed MMCplus of 150x at Computex Taiwan 2005. PDC will also upgrade its performance for high speed MMCmobile from the current 60x to 150x. The next target level of high speed cards will be over 200x, expecting to be launched in Q4 of 2005.
Hsin Tien, Taiwan (PRWEB) May 29, 2005 -- Already having products with performance speeds higher than industry averages, PDC (Power Digital Card) will announce its prototype of high speed MMCplus of 150x at Computex Taiwan 2005. PDC will also upgrade its performance for high speed MMCmobile from the current 60x to 150x within time. PDC utilizes state of the art 90nm memory and 0.18um controller technology to attain these performance speeds. The next target level of high speed cards will be over 200x, expecting to be launched in Q4 of 2005.
Holders of mobile devices using external storage media now have better choices. Consumers will no longer have to tolerate the trade-off relationship between performance and price in the foreseeing future. The experience of speedy data storage related to picture shooting, movie taking and watching, content editing...etc. on any particular multimedia mobile phone will no longer be a dream. PDCs high speed products will be targeted at content rich applications such as HDTV, High Speed Optical Fiber Transmissions, or content downloads.
As a product line of PDCs high quality memory products, PDCs new high speed cards are also 100% waterproof, dust proof, high ESD protection, shock proof and environmental friendly. Besides the advantages mentioned above, PDCs high speed MMCplus and MMCmobile also have the characteristics of low power consumption. Users of multi-function mobile phones will consider this feature to be crucial because battery power is a must for mobile multimedia applications.
According to Nelson Terng, Director of Marketing at PDC, The high performance of MMCplus, MMCmobile, and MMCmicro have shifted the demands of consumers for memory cards up to another level of speed requirements. 52Mhz at 8 bits allow PDCs MulitMediaCard product series to be the fastest performing cards available in the industry (maximum speed performance of 340x).
Matched with dual voltage functions, power consumption is also the lowest in the industry. Users with devices that use SD or standard MMCs now can experience a whole new speed performance with PDCs high speed products. For device makers which bundle memory cards, PDCs MultiMediaCards are also the better choice due to its technology advantage and lower costs (no royalties need to be paid to MMCA)."
