Three Women Go to the Dogs" to Start New Company and Launch Brand New Product for Dogs Called the PoopsdaisyTM

Realizing a need for new and useful pet products based on their own pet experiences, three women from Rochester, NY formed the company, Clever Pet Products, LLC, www.cleverpetproducts.com, and are launching their first original pet product for dogs, the PoopsadaisyTM. The Poopsadaisy is a fashion-crafted and lightweight pouch that looks like a mini backpack, designed to carry a dogs waste while out for a walk.

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) May 31, 2005 -- Sharing an embarrassing moment at a birthday bash turned three local Rochester, NY women into savvy entrepreneurs. Three friends (Alice Swetman, Bonnie Wetzel and Michelle Nield) all from differing backgrounds with decades between them, brought together by a common love for their pets, have always enjoyed laughing together. Lately, however, the three have spent most days, nights and weekends working side-by-side along with their husbands forming a new pet products business and launching their first product. The companys focus is simple - to design innovative pet products that make life easier for people who love their pets the world over.

Realizing a need for new and useful pet products based on their own pet experiences, the three women got together to form the company, Clever Pet Products, LLC, www.cleverpetproducts.com, and are launching their first original pet product for dogs, the PoopsadaisyTM. The Poopsadaisy is a fashion-crafted and lightweight pouch that looks like a mini backpack, designed to carry a dogs waste while out for a walk. It easily slips over the dogs collar and conveniently carries a set of Daisy Bags for pick up and storage of dogs waste. The Poopsadaisy is highly durable, washable and completely safe for dogs; already tested and approved by several veterinarians. This first-of-its-kind dog pack is smartly crafted to Let your Dog Carry the Load!"

We felt there was a great need for a discreet and convenient way to carry the dogs 'business while out for walks in areas where it is mandatory to clean up after your dog," said Bonnie Wetzel, President and CEO of Clever Pet Products, LLC. The PoopsadaisyTM is a smart looking light weight pouch that allows dog owners to safely pick up their dogs waste and store it for the duration of a walk or time spent playing in the park."

The new venture began while sharing embarrassing moments at one of the founders birthday parties. Wetzel explained how she was walking her dog, Chanel (like the perfume), and was once again caught carrying the dogs business when she ran into a friend on the street. The bag, the smell, the whole experience bothered her so much that she decided to rig a pack to her dogs collar so in the future Chanel could carry her own business.

This new fangled invention," Wetzel explained, caught the attention of several other dog walkers." Amid the laughter, one of the friends yelled out Let your dog carry the load." While they initially joked about it-the group became silent when someone in the group said Why not develop a new product for pet owners?" That was all the three women needed to get started. Building on everyones talents, they began their quest to design the perfect dog pack to help pet owners avoid the same awkward moments.

Ease of operation was in the forefront of the womens minds as they spent seven months of R&D, critiqued 20 prototypes, met with three vets for safety approval, hired two manufacturers, drew up product specs, met with patent attorneys, accountants, and web designers. Then came the key strategies -- they developed an extensive business plan, hired marketing experts and graphic designers, visited the online U.S. Trademark office and became members of the Uniform Code Council before preparing for the launch of the Poopsadaisy.

Clever Pet Products, LLC has plans to form strategic partnerships with several pet supply companies across the country. Potential partners from Germany, Korea, Great Britain and Mexico have already visited the Clever Pet Products web site at www.cleverpetproducts.com. With three new products in the pipeline and plans to launch the Poopsadaisy locally, nationally, and globally the three can hardly hold back their enthusiasm. We enjoy every moment of this new adventure and cant wait to go global," said Swetman and Nield, both Vice Presidents of Clever Pet Products, LLC. We know there will be knock-offs," cited Wetzel, so weve patented the design and plan to dominate the industry." Plans are underway to have Chanel, the founding doggies, portrait done for the future company board room!

The PoopsadaisyTM can currently be purchased on the Clever Pet Products website at www.cleverpetproducts.com and retails for $18.95. Additional Daisy Bags for pick up can also be purchased.

Clever Pet Products, LLC was formed by a group of women entrepreneurs, Alice Swetman, Bonnie Wetzel and Michele Nield in January 2005 as a response to a need realized by the three women for innovative and useful pet products. Based out of Rochester, NY, Clever Pet Products, LLC currently sells its products online at www.cleverpetproducts.com and features the highly distinguishable dog waste pick up product called the PoopsdaisyTM.
