Author, speaker, and freshman Âindie publisher Mary Foley received Honorable Mention and consideration for the Ten Outstanding Books of the Year for ÂBodacious! Woman in the 2005 Independent Publisher ÂIPPY Awards. In her book, ÂBodacious! Woman: Outrageously in Charge of Your Life and Lovin It! (Bodacious! Books, http://www.gobodacious.com ) Foley kicks off the first chapter with ÂI want to live like my nail color, Wild Berry  full-up on passion and feeling alive!Â
ÂI went the traditional publishing route for my first book, but found myself creatively boxed-in, said Foley. ÂBy establishing Bodacious! Books, a publishing arm of my company, I was able to work with Scout Design (http://www.stateofscout.com) to make my vision of being Âbodacious come alive in content and graphics. Her book is spiced up with color, photos, mini posters, and intriguing real-life BoMos  (Bodacious Moments).
Being bodacious  bold, outstanding, audacious, empowered and in charge of your life  became AOL insider Mary FoleyÂs personal rallying cry over the years there as her entrepreneurial spirit grew. Her story is inspiring women that being bodacious is a happier, more productive and satisfying way to live both personally and professionally. ÂBeing a good girl isnÂt good enough because it doesnÂt equip us to manage, let alone thrive, on the constant change of todayÂs world, says Foley.
A descendant of the Southern ÂYa-Ya Sisterhood tradition, connected globally by high-speed Internet, Foley gives women four easy ways to change their lives. She calls her formula the ÂBodacious! Woman MantraÂ: ÂLook within. Think strategically. Act bodaciously. And love every minute of it! Foley is devoting her life and work to seeing her bodacious movement for women succeed.
The ÂIPPY Awards, launched in 1996, are designed to bring increased recognition to the deserving but often unsung titles published by independent authors and publishers. Established as the first awards program open exclusively to independents also known as Âindies, over 1,000 ÂIPPYs have been awarded to authors and publishers around the world. About Mary Foley
At age 33, Foley retired from American Online where she started 10 years earlier as an $8-an-hour customer service rep and rose through the ranks to be AOLÂs first head of corporate training for 12,000 employees. Along the way, she survived six layoffs, a collapsed marriage, office politics, and career disappointments and emerged a Bodacious Woman. Since the success of her first book, Foley has appeared on over two dozen major TV affiliates; over 100 radio stations; and in numerous newspapers and magazines including KiplingerÂs Personal Finance, The Boston Globe, The Times of London, and the Denver Business Journal among others. Now Foley is ÂWoman in Charge of her company Bodacious! Ventures, LLC and continues to spread her ÂBodacious! Woman message through her Bodacious! Books series, online, in tele-seminars, on CDs, and wherever she travels for book signings and speaking engagements.
