Intradyn Announces Additions to RocketVault Appliance Line, Easy to Use, 'Plug and Dust, Archiving and Backup Appliances

RocketVault appliances are stand-alone archive, backup, compliance, and disaster-recovery appliances for small to mid-sized businesses. IntraDyn is the first company to offer archiving, backup, lifecycle management, as well as on-site and off-site data protection -- all in a single, purpose-built, self-contained unit.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) May 28, 2005 -- IntraDyn Inc. announced today two new models of its line of RocketVault appliances, which are stand-alone archive, backup, compliance, and disaster-recovery appliances for small to mid-sized businesses. IntraDyn is the first company to offer archiving, backup, lifecycle management, as well as on-site and off-site data protection -- all in a single, purpose-built, self-contained unit.

The RocketVault is an automated, unattended data protection solution. The user simply plugs it in, does a one-time setup, and the appliance runs itself. Its specifically designed to address todays growing concerns about regulatory compliance and secure protection of mission-critical business data.

As a state-of-the-art, disk-based backup and archiving appliance that integrates all necessary hardware and software into one simple, yet powerful unit, the RocketVault backs up data on the local area network (LAN) and stores it locally and remotely -- all automatically. It does so to the exact parameters the customer specifies when doing the initial, simple setup, in the manner that best meets their unique business requirements. RocketVault features robust, highly secure software, combined with the latest high-performance hardware to eliminate integration time. Its high-speed disk-to-disk" copying technology has a much shorter time-window than tape, and allows for lightning-fast file restorations when required.

The RocketVault appliance also offers a choice of backup and archiving technologies, including pre-encryption of local and remote data, in addition to standard encrypted transmission, so that mission-critical data can easily be sent to other company sites or to any off-site storage location safely. All these features give customers the peace of mind of true, enterprise-class data protection for their businesses.

Eliminating the Problems and Poor Reliability of Tape

According to recent studies, 50-60% of restores from backed-up data fail, which these studies attribute directly to the unreliability of tape, as well as to human error related to tape. The new rack-mountable RocketVault appliances use the latest serial ATA (SATA) disk-to disk" (D2D) RAID 5 backup and archiving technology, which is much faster and more reliable than tape.

When appliances are done properly they offer great value when it comes to comprehensiveness of solution and simplicity of operation. RocketVault is the first appliance I've seen that offers sophisticated archiving capabilities like schedule load balancing, life cycle management and the storage of encrypted files on both its internal disk drives and at a remote site. Its automation of the backup and archiving processes provides improved reliability and reduced staff costs." Mike Karp, Senior Enterprise Storage Analyst, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA)

Key Customer Benefits: More Time Out of the Office, Better Sleep at Night With RocketVault, companies can greatly increase productivity by doing away with all the time thats typically spent in the drudgery of doing tape backups.

The RocketVault appliance is actually four solutions in one: (1) local backup, (2) local archiving, (3) remote archiving, and (4) synchronization of block-level changes for disaster recovery to offsite locations. It features advanced data compression technology for more efficient bandwidth utilization, and the latest, U.S.-government endorsed, 256-bit encryption for the utmost in security
