Christianity Deteriorating around the Country

Ninety-five percent of the people in America who become Christians do so before the age of 25. If the church doesnÂ?t reach the youth, we will be facing a country who doesn't know God. Consequently, WhatÂ?s The Word Magazine (wtwmagazine.com) is sponsoring a nationwide campaign promoting urban Gospel music.

What’s The Word (WTW) Magazine is an online urban Gospel music magazine located at wtwmagazine.com. WTW has established itself as one of the leading online publications geared to Christian urban youth. This publication recently released a special edition dealing with the importance of reaching youth in America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Did you know that ninety-five percent of the people in America who become Christians do so before the age of 25? If Christians don't reach people with the gospel before they reach the age of 25, they are going to miss 95 percent of them.

The Barna Research Group (BRG) of Ventural, CA, is the leading religious pollster in the U.S. since 1984. Recent research conducted by BRG has found that the percentage of American adults who identify themselves as Christians has dropped from 86% in 1990 to 77% in 2001. During this same period, the population of America has increased by 9%. At the present rate of change, the majority of the American population will not be Christian by the year 2035. Unfortunately, during this same period of time, agnosticism, atheism, and secularism are growing rapidly. If the church doesn’t reach the youth, they will be facing a country who doesn't know God.

Just like the government is trying to do something about social security before the money runs out, the church needs to do something about the decline of Christianity before it dries out. At the rate the church is going now, Christianity will no longer be the number one religion in this country before too long. At this point, the church has two choices: either start focusing more on reaching the youth or continue to see Christianity around the country deteriorate.

Consequently, What’s The Word Magazine (wtwmagazine.com) is sponsoring a nationwide campaign promoting urban Gospel music. They believe that urban Gospel music is one of the solutions to this problem. WTW wants to share this very critical information with as many church leaders as possible. Remember, if Christians don’t reach people by the age of twenty-five, they will probably never know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And, unfortunately, if the church doesn’t reach them, someone or something else will.
