2005 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Head Start Program.Join us as we celebrate forty years of Head Start success and look to many more years of serving low income children and families.

(PRWEB) June 1, 2005 -- 2005 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Head Start Program. This years conference is very significant as we revisit past successes and look to many more years of serving low income children and families. The Region VII Leadership Conference has been called one of the best regional Head Start conferences in the country."

The conference design team has worked hard to ensure that this years conference will again stand out as one of the best. The Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Kansas City, MO will be the hosting site on June 1-3, 2005. The regions highly qualified presenters are bringing many years of experience and knowledge to Kansas City through fun and informative workshop sessions. Back by popular demand are workshop sessions by David Nelson, Russ Fry, Ron Willis and many more! Conference highlights include more than 35 workshop sessions on a variety of topics, Exhibitors and Vendors, 40th Anniversary Celebration, Region VII Head Start Awards Presentations, dynamic and energizing keynote presentations, including Edward Zigler, Ph.D., who was known for his dedication to health and education of children throughout his career.

Dr. Zigler was the first Director of the Office of Child Development (known today as the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families) and Chief of the U.S. Childrens Bureau. He is considered as one of the founding fathers of Head Start and founded and is Director of Yales Center in Child Development and Social Policy, founder of the School of the 21st Century.

This is certainly a conference you wont want to miss. On Wednesday, June 1st, from 7:00- 9:00 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kansas City, join us as we celebrate forty years of Head Start success and as we take a walk down memory lane.

Special guest, Sarah Greene, President & CEO, National Head Start Association, will share her thoughts on the success of the Head Start program over the past 40 years as well as her vision for the future as Skip Hawkins, one of Kansas Citys most requested musicians, enchants us all with music of yesterday and today. You will not want to miss this 40th Anniversary Celebration as we revisit the vision and rekindle our passion for the leading early childhood program in the nation.
