Tocquigny Strengthens Its Leadership Position

Metrics-driven marketing agency woos creative director, client services VP, and Caterpillar team lead

Tocquigny, a metrics-driven advertising and marketing agency, is strengthening its leadership position as a provider of integrated marketing solutions that drive proven results with strategic hires in creative and account services. Skip Dampier joins Tocquigny as vice president and creative director; Todd Ruff joins as vice president of client services; and Renee Brandon joins as account director on Tocquigny’s Caterpillar account.

Dampier, in the creative director position, brings his perceptive and powerful creative vision to Tocquigny’s global clients including AMD, Caterpillar and Dell; and will lead the agency’s creative team. Ruff, a veteran technology brand builder, is leading strategy for Tocquigny’s enterprise accounts, including further formalizing Tocquigny’s brand strategy practice. He will also provide leadership for the agency’s account service group. Brandon will provide strategic account leadership on Caterpillar, as well as serving as marketing research advisor for Tocquigny accounts.

Skip Dampier, Tocquigny’s new vice president and creative director, comes to the agency from Ross Creative + Strategy in Illinois, where he was president and executive creative director. While at Ross, Dampier worked on premiere accounts including Archer Daniels Midland, Caterpillar, Newell/Rubbermaid and State Farm. Prior to his tenure at Ross, Dampier was creative director at Simantel Group; he was also creative group head at Strascina & Partners in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dampier has been published in many creative industry publications, was awarded an ACE Award by the Business Marketing Association’s New York chapter, and has racked up hundreds of Addys. He is also an American Advertising Federation Certified ADDY Judge.

With 18 years of agency experience, Dampier brings a wealth of expertise in creative leadership, strategic thinking, brand expertise, client relationships and business development. His passion and vision for directing amazing creative work that inspires measurable brand growth fits perfectly with Tocquigny’s position as a respected builder of enterprise brands.

Todd Ruff, Tocquigny’s new vice president of client services, brings 15 years of experience to the agency from both the agency and client perspectives. A dynamic leader known for his expertise in creating some of the strongest and most enduring brands in technology, Ruff was previously global advertising and emarketing director at Freescale/Motorola. He was also a founding partner at RuffCoffinBreedlove, where he headed up client services. Ruff was the first employee in Leo Burnett’s Austin office, and also worked at Iomega as a senior brand manager for Zip Solutions. While at EuroRSCG/DSW, Ruff also had a leadership role in developing the strategy for the launch of Iomega’s Zip Drive.

In addition to providing strategic direction for Tocquigny’s clients, Ruff will lead Tocquigny’s account services practice, managing and mentoring the account services group. He will also oversee the development of client relationships and help grow Tocquigny’s world-class client roster. In addition to his professional activities, Ruff serves on the board of directors and marketing committee for the Boys and Girls Club of Austin.

Renee Brandon, account director, will direct the Caterpillar account and add to Tocquigny’s growing research practice. Brandon joins Tocquigny from global marketing research giant Millward Brown IntelliQuest in Austin, where, as an account group director in Client Services, she worked with clients including Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Sony, 3Com and Hewlett Packard.

Brandon’s expertise in using research to guide new product development includes market validation, product design and pricing. In addition, she has extensive market segmentation, brand positioning and purchase process research experience.
