Diagnose and Repair Wireless Networks Using VisiWave Site Survey

A new version of the complete wireless LAN site survey solution, VisiWave Site Survey, is now available for evaluation or purchase. This release refreshes all offerings, adds support for collecting survey data using a Windows laptop computer, adds support for 802.11a and 802.11g, improves support for surveying city-wide hotspots, and restructures the product's pricing and packaging.

Kalamazoo, MI (PRWEB) June 6, 2005 -- AZO Technologies, Inc. today announced the availability of a major release of its wireless LAN site survey product. The new release of the VisiWave Site Survey line of products refreshes all offerings, adds support for collecting survey data using a Windows laptop computer, adds support for 802.11a and 802.11g, improves support for surveying city-wide hotspots, and restructures the product's pricing and packaging.

VisiWave Site Survey is an advanced site survey tool that provides data collection and visualization capabilities not found in any other existing product. The VisiWave Site Survey product takes advantage of advanced location tracking technology and combines that with high-powered data visualization and reporting capabilities to create a complete wireless LAN site surveying solution.

After performing a site survey of the eWeek Labs facility, Andrew Garcia wrote that, "VisiWave Site Survey gathers WLAN RF data and produces visually compelling survey reports, making it an indispensable tool for WLAN consultants and administrators."

With this new product release, we made the industry's easiest-to-use site surveying tool even easier by adding several enhancements to the product's user interface. For example, keeping track of where you are in a survey is now easier with simplified zooming and panning capabilities. These improved features make data collection easier no matter if you are zooming in on a building's floor plan image to see greater detail or zooming out to view the coverage of a city's downtown wireless hotspot.

In previous releases, data collection could only be done using a Pocket PC handheld computer. Now, customers are able to use VisiWave Site Survey on their regular Windows 2000/XP laptop computers. The Pocket PC handheld version has the advantage that it can be more portable, but the laptop version has several advantages of its own including it is easier to try out since most people already have a laptop computer, it has a bigger screen so a larger survey area can be viewed at one time, it supports more wireless adapters, and--unlike handheld computers--it supports the 802.11a and 802.11g standards.

Along with releasing new software, we have restructured the product line's pricing and packaging. We now have several product offerings that meet the needs of almost all organizations no matter how big or small they are. We have a low-cost release that can be afforded by small, independent contractors, small businesses, and even hobbyists. We also offer a version suitable for professional network consultants and companies with medium to large wireless networks.
