71% of Singles Date Three Years Prior to Marriage
Can you find romance at a wedding? With the big June wedding season upon us, Its Just Lunch, the premier dating service for busy professionals, conducted a survey of 2,774 singles, 26% of Northern California singles say weddings are great places to meet other singles, although dont expect the relationship to last long. 67% of single men in San Franciscos wedding romance never made it past the first date. Only 3% of singles have met someone at a wedding and are still together today, however 23% of Minneapolis single men have met someone at a wedding and are still dating today. 73% of East Coast men have never met someone at a wedding that they have ended up dating. Only 5% of single womens wedding romance has lasted only a week.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 3, 2005 -- And, how long should you date before taking the plunge? 71% of singles think three years is about right; however, 70% of men in the Washington DC area think one year is enough time. In agreement are 85% of Southern California women and 84% of Dallas women. Unfortunately, 68% of Dallas men think 2½ years is the minimum to date prior to popping the question.
It is a good idea to go stag to a wedding according to 91% of singles. But 7% of single women in Orange County would never go solo to a wedding and say your better off not going to the wedding at all than going stag. Raleigh-Durham single women have more confidence than the women in the OC. 96% of single women in the Triangle would definitely go stag to a wedding.
If you are dating someone, how long should you date before inviting your significant other to a wedding? 51% of singles say you must date at least three to six months; however 19% of Midwestern single women say you should date six months to a year before putting plus one on the RSVP card. 17% of Dallas single men date someone more than a year before inviting them to a wedding.
If youre attending a destination wedding this summer definitely date at least six months before RSVPing for two says 44% of singles. On the contrary, 11% of singles in Florida invite their date to the destination wedding when theyve only been dating less than three months, however 35% of singles in Seattle date more than a year before inviting their significant other to travel to a tropical island for a wedding.
61% of singles only give a gift on behalf of them and their significant other when they are invited as a couple; however 34% of Southwestern singles sign their dates name when they have been dating only two months.
First dates and weddings dont go together. 53% of single women would never take a first date to a wedding, but 13% of single women would go on a blind date to a wedding if they trusted the person who was setting them up. 12% of men in Miami would go on a blind date to a wedding-its better than going solo.
It is appropriate etiquette to bring a date when you are in the bridal party says 46% of singles. Wisconsin singles are not quick to put plus one on their RSVP cards. 52% of singles in Wisconsin singles says it depends on the circumstances and always talk to the bride or groom before sending in the RSVP.
