The hot new trend of “podcasting” met the time-honored tradition of middle-management whining with the launch of “The Cranky Middle Manager” show, on The Podcast Network (http://www.thepodcastnetwork.com). The show premiered today.

“The Cranky Middle Manager” Podcast is the web-based brainchild of author and speaker Wayne Turmel. “It’s for everyone stuck between the idiots who make the decisions and the incompetents who can’t follow orders”, he says, tongue fully in his cheek.

Don’t let the irreverent tone fool you. The weekly internet broadcast will feature honest, insightful commentary, interviews with leading writers and thinkers and book reviews aimed at white collar managers. Besides being a humorous writer and former standup comic, Turmel has written articles and contributed to books by respected publishers like The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and American Management Association (AMA). The premiere show contained a “business classic quote of the week,” that showed business advice hasn’t improved in the last 500 years and an insightful interview with creativity consultant Brendan Sullivan about why it’s so hard for middle managers to make creative contributions in most organizations.

Podcast Network co-founder Cameron Reilly says the show has been widely anticipated.
