New Horizon Trucking Software now Offers More Functionality and Reporting Options
Melton Technologies has released the latest version of Horizon, its Windows-based flagship trucking software, with over 80 updates across several modules.
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) June 4, 2005 -- Melton Technologies has released the latest version of Horizon, its Windows-based flagship trucking software, with over 80 updates across several modules.
The Horizon product line, known for its highly interactive customizable interface, now provides enhanced tools for companies to manage their operations and more interoperability with third party vendors. Customer feedback was key in the new release, responsible for over 48 enhancements, including Billing Surcharges, a way for companies to automatically add surcharges used to offset recent surging fuel costs.
"Fuel costs continue to be a critical factor for trucking companies - the new version of Horizon addresses this with a feature that makes billing even easier," explained Chuck Melton, President and Owner of MTI. The new version of Horizon also included additional hooks for future enhancements in the product.
The Horizon product line is designed for both user and third party extensibility, with tools such as Form Validation for defining custom business rules and the Custom Data Center, that allows companies to track new information without having to wait for new releases. Trucking companies use the Data Center for managing private information and driver certification.
The new release of Horizon Dispatch allows system administrators to perform more maintenance tasks while users are still in the system. Enhancements to the Freight Billing module include better rating features, including support for cartons and product filtering.
The biggest changes are in two features found in every Horizon product. Shipment Tracer now supports wild card searching and full Billing and Settlements informations. The Form Validation tool has also been enhanced with rule templates - allowing companies to implement business rules faster than before.
