Mr. Cox has more than 14 years of experience in insurance defense law, including nine years as in-house coverage counsel for Firemans Fund Insurance Company. He is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, Texas Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and the Fourth and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Cox has B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from the South Texas College of Law, where he participated in a number of mock trial competitions. Upon graduation, he immediately went to work in the insurance coverage and appellate section of a large insurance defense firm in Houston, Texas. Shortly before the 23-year-old firm disbanded, Mr. Cox left to join Firemans Fund Insurance Company where he continued a multi-state insurance coverage practice.

Since joining HSB in January of 2003, Mr. Cox has been involved in several state and federal bad faith" cases, winning defense judgments for companies such as Zurich American Insurance Company and Chubb, as well as summary judgments in multiple bad faith" workers compensation claims. He has also acted as National Coordinating Counsel for a large commercial and residential property insurer on property coverage issues.
