Reverend Denn Guptill, Pastor of Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, has provided several of his own sermons through PowerPoint presentations, concerning current events for distribution to and use by churches worldwide. The PowerPoint sermons, distributed via http://www.PowerPoint4Preaching.com, are intended to be a resource to help preachers make the transition to preaching with visually enhanced sermons.
ÂOne of the biggest challenges in this area is that most of us are venturing into the unknown, said Rev. Guptill. ÂSeminary didnÂt offer courses in PowerPoint and most of us are preaching in our own church every Sunday so we canÂt get to the big church down the street to see what they are doing with PowerPoint.Â
These PowerPoint sermons are suitable for almost any occasion and are useful as inspirational material for writing sermons, general templates to follow during sermons, or as an example of how other churches are using PowerPoint during services.
Some of the available PowerPoint sermons include discussions and themes such as:
- Dan BrownÂs ÂThe DaVinci CodeÂ
- Terrorism and what the Bible says about war
- PowerPoint sermons based on TV shows like Fear Factor and American Idol
- Christmas, Easter, and MotherÂs Day selections
ÂI did a two-week series on a Christian's response to the book [The DaVinci Code] last year and I used several slides from the presentation, said Pastor W. Sheldon Lee from Reading, PA. ÂThey were very helpful and really punched home a few points in a way that I could not have done without them. This is a great resource.Â
The Powerpoint sermons are available in thematic sets of at least twenty sermons per CD, with the opportunity to purchase the entire collection of available PowerPoint sermons. Each PowerPoint sermon comes with a complete manuscript.
