San Marcos, CA (PRWEB) June 5, 2005 -- Parents looking for a local camp to send their children to this summer now have a new option. SuperCamp, an academic camp that teaches children academic and life skills, opens the doors for its new San Marcos location this month.
Founded in 1982, SuperCamp offers students the chance to improve their grades, test scores, and study skills, at the same time helping them improve relationships and everyday living. SuperCamp is based on concepts that make learning fun and easy, along with positive peer support and carefully orchestrated environmental factors. The camp balances academics with fun activities such as a ropes course.
The first camp, with 64 students attending, was held in July 1982. Results were so impressive the company grew quickly and the word spread. SuperCamp has graduated over 32,000 students from all 50 states and 70 additional countries. SuperCamp offers seven locations nationwide, and is also expanding internationally.
Actual quote from a SuperCamp parent: My daughter, Danielle, has been attending SuperCamp for the past four years. I have watched her grow leaps and bounds intellectually during this time. Danielle previously hated school; she was very shy and never participated in class. Getting Danielle to do her homework was a nightly struggle, which I dreaded. SuperCamp gave Danielle the tools to approach school with a positive attitude."
SuperCamp San Marcos will offer two sessions this summer:
