Tennis Triple Threat: Arthur Ashe Jr., Sports Scholar, 2005 NCAA Semi-Finalist, University of Florida Women's Tennis senior "Jennifer Magley" has received the NO.1 singles ranking in the country.
The Sport Mavericks 2004-2005 All-Star Athletes of the Year, University of Florida Women's Tennis senior Jennifer Magley is the third Gator (Jessica Lehnhoff and Alexis Gordon) to receive a No.1 singles ranking during the last five years. Jennifer is first-seeded at the 2005 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championship, and is in the main draw in singles and doubles, October 1-9,2005 hosted by the Riviera Tennis Club Pacific Palisades, California.
Sarasota, Fl (PRWEB) June 6, 2005 - The 2005/ITA Women's All- American Championships may be the last time Jennifer Magley will compete on the college courts, as she contemplates going professional after she graduates in December with scholastic honors from the University of Florida. College Tennis has not seen the likes of such a fierce competitor on the court with such grace and beauty. At 6-foot and 155 pounds, Magley would be a major attraction on any fashion runway, but Paris, Milan and New york will have to wait.
Magley has not only maintain a 4.0 grade point average, she has found time to participate in community service as well. This past spring, Magley was named SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year and was a member of the SEC Good Works Team for community service. In addition in 1999, Magley founded the program, "Pearl of Grace," a mentoring program for at-risk teenage girls in the inner city. She also plays the violin and the drums, and is the lead singer in a contemporary gospel group called "Faith." Magley has been blessed with physical beauty, intelligence, athleticism and a charitable heart. Jennifer "Rose" Magley her legal name is a brand by herself.
Magley has five priorities in her life, God, Family, Education, Tennis and Max Starks, Right Tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, her boyfriend of nearly a year. "Faith and Grace" is at center of her dreams, desires and her pursuit of excellence on and off the court. Magley hopes to join the ranks of the past Florida Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Singles Champions Jill Craybas (1999) and Jessica Lehnhoff (2001) and Double Champions Lindsay Dawaf/Jessica Lehnhoff (2001) and Whitney Benik/Lolita Frangulyan (2004, when she compete in the Singles and Doubles with her new partner Diane Srebovic. In addition, she would like to be the Second Afro-American to win the Riviera All American in singles (2003-Raquel Kops-Jones).
The subject of "who is a perfect role model" has been debated widely in sports by Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley, Mia Hamm, Shaquille O'Neal, William Sisters and the media. Few can debate whether Magley is a "perfect role model." Magley's tenacity on the courts and the classroom speaks for itself. Jennifer is a member of the "American Express Collegiate All-Star Team." She has been recognized as an "Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar;" "2005 SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the year," "2005 SEC Women's Tennis Good Work Team Member" and voted "ESPN First Team Academic All District 3 Women's At Large."
