Bonita Springs, FL (PRWEB) June 8, 2005
OnDemand Software, the developers of the award-winning WinINSTALL and the WinINSTALL Desktop Availability Suite (DAS), have joined forces with Demand Technology Software in a strategic partnership that will expand the WinINSTALL product line beyond desktop administration into server performance management. Demand Technology Software, the developers of Performance SeNTry (also known as NTSMF), bring extensive experience in performance monitoring and will provide a product offering that fits both small to medium and enterprise customer environments.
The new release, known as NTSMF PDB will provide a unique and robust offering for the Microsoft server platform. Advanced features include easy to analyze data for diagnosing and solving problems quickly such as identifying COM+ components in a complex application that have a memory leak. MicrosoftÂs server technology has matured through the Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 releases while performance management tools have lagged in providing advanced and easy to use monitoring information. NTSMF PDB provides a robust and intuitive reporting engine with a new Microsoft SQL Server Performance Data Base (PDB).
ÂWe are broadening the appeal of the original product that was designed primarily for experienced capacity planners that normally did not have Windows expertise, said Mark Friedman, Demand Technology Software Founder and President. The early releases of Performance SeNTry appealed to early adopters of Microsoft server technology who wanted to integrate Windows server management into their existing management and reporting framework, which was SAS©-based. Friedman adds, ÂThis product leverages the Microsoft technology that Windows system administrators are already familiar with. They can use Microsoft Office products like Excel and Access to analyze the SQL Server data base and report on it Performance SeNTry continues to be available in a bundled SAS version as part of a relationship with SAS Institute of Cary, NC.
ÂExpanding the WinINSTALL and DAS Suite offering with a Windows server performance monitoring product keeps OnDemand Software in line with the requirements of our customers IT management responsibilities, says Jack Palmer, President & CEO of OnDemand Software, Inc. ÂWe recognize the extensive knowledge that Demand Technology brings to our market and the NTSMF PDB will pave the way for future integration throughout our product line, added Palmer.
Mark Friedman, Founder and President of Demand Technology Software, is a widely respected expert in computer performance, with over twenty years experience in developing performance management software tools. He is the author of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Performance Guide, a volume in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit recently published by Microsoft Press. He is the co-author of Windows 2000 Performance Guide, published by OÂReilly Associates in 2002.
The partnership will include a sales and marketing relationship as well as a joint development effort in bringing the WinINSTALL Desktop Availability Suite and NTSMF PDB together in strategic functional integration points. The original offering from OnDemand Software will launch in the next few weeks with product integration to follow.
