New Florida Music Show Generates Excitement for All Ages with Golden Oldies, Elvis, and Country Music with a 'Twist'
RockAbilly.US Music Shows, a very large musical production group is taking Florida by storm. The group has been working full time to produce and prepare their shows for several years, and in the last few months since their debut in March at the Sumter County Fair, their name and fame are spreading rapidly across the country. They are not just an oldies, Elvis, and country music show. They have added so much more, and their fans keep literally begging for more shows, more often. Their web site has a lot of info; www.rockabilly.us
(PRWEB) June 9, 2005 -- Their posters and ads all read, "Elvis, Oldies, Top Hits, and Country Music", but this new phenomenon in music shows is much more than that. Breaking into the business with a name that is also their website address (www.rockabilly.us), RockAbilly.US Music Shows has already begun this year to gather a lot of fans among the residents of Citrus and surrounding counties in west-central Florida. Their theme is "Feel The Music", and while a lot of music groups attempt to convey that thought using extremely high sound levels, Rockabilly.US showband is attempting it from a different angle. They use professionally choreographed singing, dancing, and skits, combined with constant changes to various styles of lavish costumes. They top it all off with a surprising degree of extra entertainment 'bits', mixed in throughout the show. Thus, the shows are all more than just music to listen to, and performers to watch. There are always spontaneous skits and surprises along the way.
Many of today's musical artists seem to be leaning more and more towards rap, hip-hop, gothic, gore, etc. So why would such a large number of people (including over 40 performers, as well as an even larger group of technical people and support staff), decide to ride the musical 'time-machine' backwards in today's entertainment world? The answer seems to lie in the effects of nostalgia... and what a powerful effect that can be. Their web site, www.rockabilly.us, makes sure that visitors are strongly reminded of many singers and songs from the decades of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, for that very purpose. Group members admit that a few of their own musical compositions are somewhat more modern sounding, and some even include beats very much like Latin American music, but they claim that even those songs are performed in a manner that still gives them appeal with older, as well as younger audiences.
Recent polls taken among Americans of all ages, show a distinct tendency to now listen to 'Golden Oldies' forms of music. This is true with country music, as well as pop and rock-n-roll. Songs from the 1960s in particular, are being revived by newer artists. Also, more and more shows are being performed each year by the original artists, who are now returning to perform, bringing their own hits from the past with them. Rockabilly.US Music Shows are also doing just that, and have attempted to combine the most popular songs and dances of each era into high-power, energized shows. They claim to have more than a dozen different shows, featuring different songs, dances, and skits. All of their shows include a variety of musical genres going back into various decades, but the "Oldies But Goodies" influence upon their music is always very prominent.
The 'Elvis' portion of each show usually follows closely the typical style of Elvis Presley's concerts from the 1970s. Various expensive replica jumpsuits are used in different shows, and instead of having 3 or 4 girls singing back-up harmonies as Elvis did, Rockabilly.US always packs on more power with at least six girls doing that job. They claim to not actually "impersonate" Elvis, and try very hard to back up that claim, but the style and music of the King of Rock and Roll can still be easily recognized in their performances.
If you happen to live in Florida, or are passing through, you might find a RockAbilly.US Music Show to be the highlight of your vacation. The web site is generally updated every couple of weeks with new information, new pictures, and according to a posting on the site, some music video clips are coming very soon. Also, based on comments made by their fans writing in, there is an increasingly large audience awaiting word for each upcoming Rockabilly.US show.
We have word from the Rockabilly.US manager that quite a few new shows are being scheduled right now, and will be posted on the web site very soon. These include performances at both the Citrus and Sumter county fairgrounds, as well as some special shows at the Austin Horse Park located near The Villages, Florida (web site is austinhorsepark.org). He strongly assures us that in the very near future, the music of this large performing group will become well known to a large segment of North America, as well as many other parts of the world. He says there are many more surprises coming soon. For more information, you may contact him at rockabilly.us@gmail.com
