Harry A. Long, DMD (http://www.drharrylong.com), a cosmetic dentist practicing in Wayne, N.J., received a visit from the crew of “Outside the Box." The purpose of the visit was to film a segment for their show, which will be aired on CNBC. Dr. Long was interviewed for the upcoming show by host Mike Hegedus. The show features companies who operate “out of the box." Dr. Long was featured in the show because of his technique used for delivering Novocain to patients.

Milestone Scientific, located in Livingston, produces the Wand, the device used by Dr. Long for delivery of Novocain.

While the Wand may not cause rabbits to pop out of hats, some swear it does magic. The Wand is an anesthetic delivery system controlled by computer. It provides patients with a consistent amount of numbing without the usual discomfort of shots. Because the Wand is handheld, Dr. Long can precisely control the amount of anesthesia a patient receives. If a patient has an aversion to needles or feels apprehensive about receiving dental treatment, the Wand can make the visit easier and more comfortable.

The interviewer asked Dr. Long to demonstrate the product and was sold on the gentle technique. Dr. Long can always be expected to have the latest technology available for his patients.

CNBC viewers will see Dr. Long on TV in the next few weeks.
