Does it Make More Sense to be a Secular Humanist or a Christian?
Making the case FOR Secular Humanism, Ed Buckner explains its better moral/ethical grounding.
(PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- Continuing the fight for reason and civil liberties, on June 18th, at Tampa's Center for Inquiry-Florida, Ed Buckner, Southern Director, Council for Secular Humanism, makes the case for secular humanism. Ed, a former executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism, has spoken frequently (and occasionally debated Christian representatives) on this topic.
He'll explain his claims that a secular humanist approach is better grounded in terms of ethics or morality, more logical, more conducive to developing a just and effective society, and more fun than Christianity.
He'll also explain his conclusion that there is no good reason to be believe that Christianity is based on truth.
Agree or disagree with Ed (and if you disagree enough, call us--Ed would be happy to turn this into a formal debate), we guarantee his talk will be provocative, intellectually stimulating, and interesting.
