Leonardo Pereznieto is Awarded in New York City by the International Art Festival
The international jury awarded the work of artist Leonardo Pereznieto for his beauty and innovation, selecting among participant artists from all over the world.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- Leonardo impressed the circa 1,000 attending public as well as the jury of the International Art Festival present in the Spirit of NYC exhibiting his most recent sculptures made out of transparent acrylic, illuminated with color lighting, together with his work in bronze. The artist was selected to receive an award for his sensual and life-like creations.
Leonardo Pereznieto has exhibited in prominent galleries of cities such as Paris, Florence, London, Montecarlo, Los Angeles, Mexico, etc. and has delivered talks about his art all over the world including the Celebrity Centre Florence and the University of Michigan. He received the Mozart Prize for the Arts in Nice, France.
Pereznieto´s exquisite sculptures and paintings play upon our disavowed dreams, sensibilities and longings to persuade us to return to some of the romantic ideals and motifs that modern art has, for the most part, forsaken. Romanticism, but with a difference. His art couples a nostalgia for romanticism with an acute sense of the needs of modernity.
Together with writer Claudia Moscovici (who also attended the NYC exhibit), Leonardo is cofounder of the cultural movement of postromanticism (see website postromanticism.com).
Postromanticism is a contemporary artistic movement that places passion at the center of human life, art and poetry. In painting and sculpture it emphasizes representational art that depicts the beauty of human figures and evokes sensuality and the richness of human emotions.
Leonardo Pereznieto finds inspiration for his art in the writings of philosopher and humanist L. Ron Hubbard, who wrote:
"A culture is only as great as its dreams and its dreams are dreamed by artists."
