(PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- This is the 20th year of Secular Organizations for Sobriety, (SOS). "Be your own higher power" could be a motto of SOS. In a secular program built around the idea of being responsible and taking control because your addiction can be cured, by you, with our help, SOS has proven its case.
Local groups are self-supporting. They function through "friendly, honest, anonymous, and supportive group meetings". A positive, non-destructive "you are a winner, not a helpless loser" attitude provides great support to members. SOS believes that whatever works is beneficial, and doesn't compete with other programs because achieving and maintaining sobriety is the constant goal.
