Easy to install and saving businesses tens of thousands of dollars, Cnetics Test tRACk is the nation's first rentable, multi-bootable OS Hewlett Packard/Oracle 10g RAC solution. Customers average a 150% ROI. Systems may also be purchased outright.

Norcross-based Cnetics Technologies, LLC, proudly announce the North American launch of Test tRACk (Real Application Clusters) a quick, cost-effective testing ground and/or permanent solution to client mission critical database issues.

Multi-bootable, mixed components combine the Oracle 10g RAC with Hewlett-Packard hardware with Linux, HP-UX and Windows operating systems. Units are compact and housed in a hard case on wheels, making it smart, portable and simple to deploy. “We are thrilled about this product and the partnership with Oracle and Hewlett-Packard to make it all happen,” says Craig Thornton, president of Cnetics. Statistics indicate that Oracle grid computing customers average a 150% ROI over a five year period.

The Cnetics Test tRACk is the outcome of a seven month long process that came out of various meetings with Cnetics customers who were stuck with existing or outdated technologies.

“Traditional methods of testing hardware and software are quite cumbersome and often cost prohibitive,” Thornton says. “Test tRACk is economical because it’s transportable, self-contained and pre-configured.” This rolling database cluster may be rented short term or a custom configuration can be purchased outright.

Test tRACk allows clients to rapidly evaluate and test new technology without having to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in hardware and hundreds of hours of preparation before determining whether the combination is suitable.

“It helps companies make better decisions that can save them substantially, or put off making a purchase all together because of something revealed during the process,” Thornton says. “It is better to spend $10 thousand dollars on a Test tRACk than to go through the process of buying software and hardware, only to learn later that what was purchased doesn’t suit their needs.”

Kenny Smith, Director of Oracle/HP Services, says “Since 9-11 everyone is doing more with less, which has increased the demand for clustered solutions.” The Test tRACk works well for both large and small companies. Small companies cannot typically go out and buy test equipment; for large companies, it validates the need to go with a RAC, which OS to use and how everything may be best utilized.

Smith, who has presented and demonstrated the Cnetics Test tRACk at many Oracle user conferences and customer sites, says that this ready to go proof of concept solution accelerates an Oracle grid computing implementation. "We can have any customer running Oracle 10g RAC on their OS of choice in thirty minutes at their location with their application. All we need is a network connection and a power outlet".
