Sun, Stars, and Talent Shine at SummerFest 2005
Approximately 1,500 actors, comedians, dancers, models and vocalists participated in SummerFest 2005, a talent search event at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center during the Memorial Day Weekend.
(PRWEB) June 12, 2005 -- Approximately 1,500 actors, comedians, dancers, models and vocalists participated in SummerFest 2005, a talent search event at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center during the Memorial Day Weekend. Well over 100 talent and modeling agents, casting directors, producers, managers, A&R reps and other industry professionals from around the world attended the event looking for new talent.
At the event, Music Impresario and Entrepreneur Lou Pearlman announced that Fashion Rock will now be known as Talent Rock. These events are all about opportunity and I believe the name Talent Rock better reflects the variety of talented customers we serve," said Pearlman, who discovered the Backstreet Boys, 'N SYNC, LFO, O-Town, and many more. Founded in November 2003, the company provides a unique opportunity for the entertainment industry to discover aspiring talent and for talent to learn about the industry through workshops and networking opportunities at a world-class destination.
Participants had the opportunity to compete as an actor, comedian, dancer, model and/or vocalist for a share of more than $100,000 worth of prizes, thanks in part to the following sponsors: Rocks Fine Jewelry, TechnoMarine watches, IceTek watches, Marsha Doll Models, Sophies Swimwear, Broadway Dance Center, Eyes4Less sunglasses, RT Web Designs, Dance Magazine and Young Dancer Magazine. One hundred and nine finalists were chosen by the industry professionals attending the event. These finalists competed as an actor, comedian, dancer, model and/or vocalist for 21 awards.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the entertainment business by attending more than 20 industry workshops and rock out to performances by Trans Continental Records rising stars Natural, CNOTE, Sean van der Wilt, Smilez & Southstar, and US5.
