ItsAboutMusic.com, the web's first Internet-Only Music Label is pleased to announce the signing of Singer-Songwriter Harry Francis to their roster of more than 240 great artists.

(PRWEB) June 12, 2005 -- ItsAboutMusic.com, the web's first Internet-Only Music Label is pleased to announce the signing of singer-songwriter Harry Francis to their roster of more than 240 great artists.

Harry Francis - 3rd place "Album of the Year" in the 2004 Just Plain Folks music awards

Though he's been known mostly as the keyboard player for the east coast rock band Mr. Greengenes, Harry Francis is making his own mark on the world. His 1999 debut CD "Here In The Underground" demonstrated his love for pop/rock music and catchy melodies along with his diverse sense of style.

His ever growing list of awards and achievements include:

  • 3rd place "Album of the Year" in the 2004 Just Plain Folks music awards
- "Album of the year" and "Song of the year" nominations for the Just Plain Folks music awards. (2004)
- "Best keyboard player" in the 2004 Philadelphia music awards.
- Appeared on the New Music Weekly "Up and Coming" pop/rock radio charts (July 2003)
- Three (3) "finalist" awards in the 2003 Unisong International Songwriting Contest
- Top 10 finish in the pop category of the 2001 USA Songwriting Contest
- "Album of the Year" nomination for the Just Plain Folks music awards. (2001)
- Harry's song "Free" spent 4 weeks at #1 on the charts on Garageband.com (2001)
- Two "song of the year" nominations in Modern Rock and Pop in the Just Plain Folks music awards. (2001)
- 1st place finish in the pop category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (1999)
- 5 top 10 finishes in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest (1998-1999)

In the last few years, Harry and Mr. Greengenes have performed for close to a million people and have shared the stage with such notable acts as Veruca Salt, Better than Ezra, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jefferey Gaines, G-love, Cowboy Mouth, the Commitments, Marcy Playground, and Garrison Star to name a few. Harry has also studied songwriting with Rob Hyman, songwriter and keyboardist for the 80's band the "Hooters" as well as songwriter of the Grammy nominated #1 hit by Cyndi Lauper, "Time after Time". Most recently, Harry has had the opportunity to work with Grammy nominated producer David Ivory (The Roots, Erica Badu, Patti LaBelle).

As a songwriter, Harry is a member of BMI and the LA based independent A+R group TAXI. He occasionally speaks and lectures in schools and music camps about songwriting and the music business. Harry holds a B.S. degree in Music Education from West Chester University and was a former middle school and elementary music teacher.

At the beginning of 2002, Harry started on a nine month project of writing and revising new songs for a future CD as well as building his very own recording studio in which to record what would be come his sophomore recording. As the studio was completed, Harry spent the next 7 months wearing the hats of songwriter, musician, producer, and engineer in completing what would become his long awaited 2003 release, "Hi-fi Virgin". "This new CD is so much more mature and complete", Harry says. "I think almost every song on this disc can be a 'can't get it out of your head' type of song. Every song has radio hit potential. Every song is memorable and that's what people are drawn to, including me, the songwriter."

With all that he has done and accomplished at age 33, his lifelong goal is to someday win a Grammy. If his past is any indication of what the future holds, this talented singer/songwriter will have many 'memorable' things to look back on.
