FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant, a company specializing in Swiss watches, has won Horloges Magazine's ÂWatch of the Year 2005Â in the class up to Â 3000. The title was given to FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant for its ÂHeart Beat Manufacture Caliber FC-910.Â The prize-winners were announced during the magazine's annual ÂHorloge GalaÂ which was held at the prestigious ÂHuis ter DuinÂ Hotel in Noordwijk, situated on the Dutch coast.
The award was presented to FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant by jurymember Mr. Ron Wooter (Director of the International Clock and Watch Department of Sotheby's in Amsterdam). On behalf of the jury he explained the choice for FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant in winning the award. ÂThe excellent price/quality ratio together with its appealing design is a superb combination. In addition, FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant has completely designed and produced this movement making it a true Manufacture movement and Swiss watch,Â he said.
The prize was handed to Mr. Peter Constant Stas, founder and owner of FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant and Mr. Ralph Simons, representing Paul Simons Watches & Design and distributor for FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant in the Netherlands.
Mr. Peter Stas was delighted about winning this award: ÂIt is a true honour and a pleasure to recieve this award. It is a great reward for the two and half years we worked passionately on developing this caliber," he said.
The Heart Beat Manufacture Caliber was developed by FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant together with a team of eight specialists from the Ãcole d'Horlogerie de GenÃ¨ve, Ãcole d'Ingenieurs de GenÃ¨ve and the Horloge Vakschool Zadkine in Rotterdam. For the production aspect, a team of 14 specialists was carefully selected.
Recently FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant has introduced new varieties of the FC-910 caliber. In Basel, FrÃ©dÃ©rique Constant introduced its ÂHeart Beat Manufacture Moonphase DateÂ with FC-915 caliber and its ÂLadies Heart Beat ManufactureÂ with FC-910 caliber. New models of these swiss watches are currently in development.
