Vigilar Maintains Consistent Growth In May 2005
Number of total deals increased 126% over May 2004. Vigilar highlights clients information security buying trends.

The new clients engaged Vigilar for consulting services, implementations of new products from Vigilars partners, and information security training. The total number of Vigilar deals gained in May, which combines new and existing client cross-sales, increased 16% over April 2005 and 126% over May 2004.

It used to be that organizations would come to Vigilar after an information security breach had already occurred or if a compliance deadline was looming, and they were looking for quick fixes to address their issues. But more recently there has been a definite increase in organizations coming to us proactively searching for new technologies and services that help maintain organization-wide optimal security postures.
Over the past several months we have seen several trends emerge in our clients buying habits," continued Sanders. A majority of our clients have come to us for help with establishing end-to-end network security, including a good amount of interest in utilizing intrusion prevention technology. We also see a ramp-up in organizations looking for better protection against spam, viruses, phishing, and other email threats. In addition, we have noticed a growing demand for our compliance services, especially with regard to the PCI Data Standard, which has a rapidly approaching June 30th deadline. And in light of recent news events where employees have contributed knowingly or not to significant data theft, we have noted a budding interest in social engineering, which is a service that focuses on the critical human component of organization-wide information security.
