Pets Go On Vacation
Now that summer vacation travel plans are in high gear across the country, safety is becoming more of an issue with pet owners. Pets have become popular travel companions with 14 percent of all U.S. adults (29.1million) saying they have traveled with a pet on a trip of 50 miles or more, one-way, away from home in the past three years according to the U.S. Pet Ownership & Demographics, American Veterinary Medical Association. Just like cell phones, fast food and other road distractions, pets can impair the drivers ability to operate a vehicle safely.
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) June 16, 2005 -- There are a growing number of pet restraint products now hitting the shelves of pet stores. Christine Best of Indianapolis has developed a product called The Original FidoRido pet car seat. The FidoRido is a booster seat and restraint for dogs up to 30 pounds or two small dogs together. Not only does the FidoRido promote safer driving with a dog, it also offers a measure of safety for the dog in case of a sudden stop.
The FidoRido is made out of the same material as a childs safety seat. The product installs to the car seat belt and includes a harness and removable storage pouch. While on vacation the FidoRido can be used as a bed and the foam padding can be removed allowing the seat to become a pet bath tub. I really wanted to make the product functional for pet travelers," stated Christine Best, President of Best Products, Inc. Like children, pets are vulnerable to air bags so the product is recommended to be used in the back seat of a vehicle.
The FidoRido is available online at www.fidorido.com and at select pet stores. The retail price is $64.99 plus shipping for a one pet seat and $82.99 plus shipping for a two pet seat. The two pet seat comes with two harnesses and straps. Best Products currently offers the pet seat in two colors, gray and taupe.
