(PRWEB) June 18, 2005 -- In April 2000, journalist Alexandre Arditti and Sophie Laurent, the tourism project leader for the Incentive agencies, met on a deserted Yucatan beach at Tulum (Mexico) on the other side of the world.

Both keen travellers, two years later, during a holiday on the island paradise of Koh Phi Phi (Thailand), they had the idea of creating a guide describing the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world, which would fire the imagination of the readers, and at the same time draw their attention to the need to preserve these natural treasures.

To achieve this, they founded the Editions Grands Voyageurs. Alexandre is the guides editor-in-chief and in charge of the editorial side, while Sophie is responsible for technical co-ordination with the tourism professionals. The couple gathered together a team of writers, photographers and reporters from over 80 countries and started out on a nearly two-year-long trek to the four corners of the earth to find these dream beaches.

Both Tourist Guide and work of art, The Guide to the 100 most Beautiful Beaches in the World offers a thoroughly subjective selection of spectacular photos of beaches on five continents, as well as all sorts of practical information about each destination (details on the country, how to get there, the best times to go, types of accommodation, local food, shopping, leisure activities, near-by places to see, the plus points").
