New Jersey Filmmakers to Make Film in One Weekend
Cup OMeat Productions to compete in 2005 New York City 48 Hour Film Project. Their goal will be to make a movie from scratch -- writing, shooting, editing and adding music -- all in one weekend.
South Orange, NJ (PRWEB) June 18, 2005 -- Local South Orange, NJ filmmakers Ron Houghtaling and Eric Kritzler will face a reel" challenge. Their Cup OMeat Productions film team will make a movie from scratch -- writing, shooting, editing and adding music -- all in one weekend. As part of the New York City 48 Hour Film Project they will be among 24 teams competing to make the best short film.
Details of the Competition:
- On Friday, July 8, at 7pm, Houghtaling and Kritzler along with representatives of the other teams will meet. Each team is assigned a genre for the film they will create as well as a character, prop and line of dialogue that must be incorporated in the film.
- From Friday until Sunday, they must write, shoot, edit and score music for their film which must be handed in at 7pm on Sunday. Films must be between four and seven minutes long.
- Their film will then be screened on July 11 adn 12 at Anthology Film Archives in New York City and judged by film-industry professionals. One film will be chosen "Best of City." All "Best of City" films will compete for the national title of 48 Hour Film of the Year.
The 48 Hour Film Project began in Washington, DC in 2001, and has since grown to over 30 cities around the world.
Cup OMeat Productions was established in 1998 as a creative collaboration of two long-time friends. Houghtaling and Kritzlers work has earned them awards and accolades, including two technical achievement awards for their film Glee, which they entered in the 2004 NYC 48 Hour Film Project.
