Liberalforum.org plans to rocket into the “blogosphere” by creating a central Web log and arming thousands of its members with free, template-based journals to help fight the rhetoric, lies and hatred spewed by conservatives.

LiberalForum.org, one of the Internet's largest liberal discussion forums, plans to rocket through the “blogosphere” with its new Web log or "blog."

In less than a year, LiberalForum.org received well over 24 million hits and 4.5 million page views. The site has over 5,000 registered members, and plans to quadruple those numbers in the upcoming months with its new blogging capabilities. The Web site features a main Web log for its own ranting and musing, but LiberalForum.org also allows each member to have his/her own blog hosted for free.

Unlike many blog hosting sites, LiberalForum.org provides its members with the option to customize their blogs from an extensive library of Web site templates.

"People are increasingly turning to blogs to get their news, information and updates," said Steven C. Rangel, owner and Chief Administrator of LiberalForum.org. “We can’t trust the veracity and motives of conventional news sources anymore. Conservatives have cast a web of deceit and hate over all media, and many intellectuals, activists and every-day folk believe that we are in the midst of an unprecedented culture war where rhetoric and language are the weapons of choice. And like the eager farmers who grabbed tools to defend America on the battlefield during the Revolution, we little people have to find our own way to fight back. Blogs are like personal battlefields where we fire our shots."
