EmINENT Microsystems receives CECOM Rapid Response (R2) Vendor Certification

EmINENT Microsystems Inc. a leader in advanced embedded technologies has been selected to be a member of Galaxy Scientific Corporation's CECOM Rapid Response (CR2) team.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 20, 2005 -- The CR2 program is the U. S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Rapid Response Program. It is an eight year contract available to Department of Defense (DOD) and other Federal Agencies to provide rapid access to products and services to research, development, upgrade, install, fabricate, test, operate, maintain and support new and existing platforms, systems, subsystems. Depending on future work requirements and funding availability, the time and materials and firm fixed price contract includes a total ceiling of $2.7 billion over an eight-year period if all options are exercised. The contract is a multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. Non-Federal agencies may use the CR2 contract if the work is within scope and Federal funds are used to fund the effort. CR2 is CECOM's primary Homeland Defense Security contract.

The contract vehicle offers significant advantages including providing Federal Government departments and agencies the ability to place work on a contract within 19 days or less. The Program enables effective but provides extremely competitive program cost and an aggressive approach to utilizing small business skills and capabilities.
