“Listen here and listen good,” announces Giovanni Gallucci in between gulps of coffee, wiping his chin and splattered desk with his hand, “This is not a fad. This is the future –- at least for now. So I guess in that sense it may be a fad. So never mind what I just said about this not being a fad.”

Gallucci, President and Chief Operating Officer of Zunch Communications, Inc., (http://www.zunch.com) is in his usual morning wind-up mode, fueled not just by coffee, but also by a genuine love for technology and the different ways he can bend it to his company’s and his clients’ benefit.

It’s hard to know when Gallucci is joking, such as when he calls out to a slim person, “Hey, chubby,” but on the subject of blogs, he is passionately serious.

“How many of us enjoy reading other people’s random thoughts?” he asks, bouncing up from his chair to straighten a pile of papers near the printer, “And how many of us do it on company time? We’ve got blogs for every interest ever known to man. We’ve got blogs from every type of person on the face of the earth, in every situation. It’s like you’ve found some diary and you’re prying into it secretly.”

Gallucci is one of many technology company executives who have adapted to the blogging culture. “Please don’t say blogosphere or I will kick you out immediately,” he urges.

“In our business, SEO, web application, development, design, etc. – we encourage our clients to get their names out there, in however many ways they can do that,” says Gallucci, “You’ve got more exposure that way, which in the end only improves your chances of… what…say it with me class -- making more money!”

Gallucci’s blog is a fun and random view into life at an interactive agency. Formerly known as the Blog Dog on another site, Gallucci has renamed his blog The Agency Blog, found at http://www.theagencyblog.com.

“Why didn’t anyone have that URL yet?” he asks as he stares out the window onto the tollway, “Who knows, but it proves one thing -- I have the agency blog now. So, ha! You want coffee?”

Determined not to be boring, the Agency Blog will not get bogged down in the technicalities and minutia of his business, insists Gallucci.

“That stuff is just eye-glazing and sleep inducing. They have forums for that. The Agency Blog will serve as a way for me to give people updates on Zunch and the industry as a whole. I will try to avoid discussing search algorithms and junk like that. If that interests you, I’m sure someone will be reserving thesearchalgorithmblog.com and begin posting for your enjoyment soon,” Gallucci bounces up again with a laptop under his arm.

“I gotta be in a meeting,” he is out the door, coffee fumes following him like a vapor trail, “Read my blog, or don’t,” he shouts over his shoulder, “And if you post a comment, please don’t be an anonymous coward.”
