As the name suggests Peak District Archaeological Tours will be offering guided tours of the archaeology of the Peak District. We offer a first-class service for small groups of the more discerning customer, including door-to-door service. Tours will be themed and will include information packs and talks, given by experienced professionals.
(PRWEB) June 23, 2005 -- We will be offering a variety of tours to archaeological sites in the Peak District in four-wheel drive vehicles (Landrover Discovery), and our clients will be picked up from a central point of convenience and returned there at end of day. Included in the service will be morning coffee and lunch. Information packs detailing the sites visited are included, and at each site an informative, informal but professional talk will be given. By providing a service that offers comfort, safety and the knowledge they will be picked up from their doorstep and taken to the sites, visitors may be attracted by a more 'civilized approach to archaeology.
The tours follow both general and particular themes. Example tours are 10,000 years in a day and 'Prehistory in the Peak. In the first of these clients will be taken on a guided walk through the upper reaches of a river valley and visit sites from many different periods -- ranging from the prehistoric to WWII. The aim of this tour is to acquaint visitors to the rich heritage of the region, and to introduce them to breadth of archaeology in general.
