Walker Caine Re-embarks on Solo Adventure

Capt. Walker postpones new band CD to work on another solo effort.

With the help of daughter, band mate, and string prodigy Abby Normal, Capt. Walker is now in the studio recording a new acoustic EP to set the stage for a road trip this fall.

As a songwriter, Walker knows how to craft a tune to appeal to both kids and retirees; skateboards and cowboy boots. His delivery is sharp with quick unexpected breaks that would make even the Led Zeppelin boys jealous.

He’s very improvised when he plays and he seems to take great pleasure in the words someone once told him - “you do everything wrong, but I like it”.

“That sums up my life on the road alone” says Walker. “I’m not out to be some industry sensation, I’m just out to have a good time with people and explore new avenues in music by taking the best of things from the early 1900’s to today’s sounds. If you listen to early recordings; by today’s standards they couldn’t sing and the same riffs were used over and over again; I’m trying to tap into some of that rawness to show people that it’s all relative. Some people just don’t get it, while others seem to understand it even better than I do.”

And some people just like having him around. “He comes across as a rock star, I was wondering what I got myself into. But I guess old habits die hard. He is really a very down to earth guy and I love what he has to say” said a now retired owner of a Texas night club. More humorously, another club owner shook his finger at Walker saying “we normally get low-key singer/songwriters here, but you’re more like a rock star. If you want to play here again bring your own security.”

The new EP is expected to be released in digital format early September 2005 by MLA Records and is yet untitled. Walker will begin touring in late August possibly joined by one or two band-mates from time-to-time or throughout the tour. Meanwhile, the latest band LP by Walker Caine, “Soft Shoulder”, is in worldwide distribution and receiving airplay on 3 continents. No tour has yet been scheduled for the band.

About MLA Records:

MLA Records is an independent label based in Phoenix, Arizona with a presence in Nebraska, Arkansas, and Germany. It is a niche label which leans toward helping artists self-release their product. Independent as they come, Walker has always handled his own scheduling. We have convinced him to allow us to build a support team, leaving him open to do what he does best… write, perform, and entertain. We are now accepting inquiries from Clubs, Agents, and Promoters regarding this tour.
