The North American Football League Announces the Official Start of the 2005 Season.

The road to the minor league Super Bowl 7 begins on July 9th, 2005.

(PRWEB) June 28, 2005 -- The North American Football League is about to officially kick off its 7th season on July 9th, 2005. This year the NAFL begins with over 100 teams, each of which think they are going to win it all.

The 2005 season is being billed as the "Revenge of the Fish". National Runners up and two-time NAFL Champions, Central Penn Piranha, are looking to regain the national trophy after a 3 year hiatus as the nations top team. The NAFL Super Bowl is the premier Super Bowl in Americas only successful self sustaining minor football league.

The NAFL is missing last year's champions, the East Side (WA) Hawks. The Hawks spread its wings and swooped indoors where they are about to win the National Indoor Football League championship. The Hawks won the 2005 Minor League Super Bowl after their second attempt when they lost in the battle of the birds to Kane County (IL) Eagles in 2004.

In addition to the aforementioned teams, the 2000 runners up, Alabama Renegades, will make their 6th attempt at winning the National Championship. The Western Champion could come out of the Midwest from Chicago, Kansas City, Wisconsin and Indianapolis, but they must first get past Texas. In a bold statement, NAFL 2 champions, Montgomery County (TX) Bulls, said they have a shot at winning it all. In 2004 they beat the Maryland Marauders in the NAFL's second tier playoff bracket.

The NAFL is a self sustaining adult amateur football league where over 5,000 football players develop their skills and play football for the love of the game. Each NAFL team plays ten regular season games. The division winners and corresponding wildcard teams play in a 5 week national playoff where the top two winners compete in the Minor League Super Bowl. Minor League Super Bowl 7 will be played at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on November 12, 2005. The Minor League Super Bowl is being played during the NAFL's championship weekend where several levels of championship games will be played. In addition to the championship games are the Pro Player Combine, East vs. West and North vs. South All star games.
